JUST ANNOUNCED: SASKIA SMITH TO STAR IN MUSIC BOOK 2010!

Recommended for ages 2-5

Come and celebrate award-winning children’s books, storytelling and music with the return of this annual Babies Proms event.

Coinciding with Children’s Book Week, the Babies Proms Orchestra performs an engaging repertoire, whilst Saskia Smith incorporates new stories and some well-loved Australian favourites. Set in a relaxed environment, Music Book introduces children to the joys of live music coupled with their much-loved stories illustrated on screen.

The following books will feature in Music Book 2010, with more to be announced in the coming weeks!

Actor Saskia Smith
Saskia graduated from NIDA with a Bachelor of Dramatic Art (Acting). Her theatre credits include As You Like It and The Tempest (Sydney Theatre Award Nomination) for the Bell Shakespeare Company, In Our Name for Company B Belvoir, the musicals Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Cabaret – the Musical directed by Sam Mendes (Green Room Award), and Dirty Dancing – the Classic Story on Stage. On screen, Saskia has appeared in productions such as Home and Away, AllSaints, and Small Claims. She has received both the Mike Walsh Foundation Fellowship, and the Gloria Dawn and Gloria Payten Foundation Fellowship, enabling her to study in Paris, London and New York.  Saskia also teaches yoga, and is currently completing a Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary).

Babies Proms Babes in Arms Policy: For the Babies Proms series only, babes in arms (babies who remain in carers arms and do not participate in the event) are admitted free of charge. Any children aged one or older, must have a ticket to these events.
